Welcome family! I’m so grateful that you’re interested in wanting to get to know me better. I hope as you read through my bio you get a sense of who I am so that you can be assured you’ll be understood and appreciated as a loyal client.
I have had quite a mobile life: growing up in a military family and moving around the country, attending an out-of-state university and following my career path wherever it might lead me. All to say, I’ve come to learn the value and importance of having a place to call home. Nothing feels better than knowing you have a place to relax and revel in. Home means creating and treasuring the many moments we experience there through holidays, parties, cookouts, game nights, babies and so many more. The idea and physical space of home is so integral to us as human beings that we characterize it as one of the biggest life decisions we will make. That is why I feel privileged to manage the great responsibility of helping clients realize their home’s potential!
From a young age I exhibited an entrepreneurial spirit. In fact, many of my first jobs came about because I possessed a skill or talent I wanted to share and saw an opportunity to benefit myself and others through my work. I loved to sing and was hired as a wedding and church singer; I mowed lawns for neighbors and family; I became a massage therapist to help clients manage their stress and pain; and I built up a successful private voice studio while engaged in study throughout my various levels of higher education. The connecting thread woven into this fabric of occupations was the desire to provide exceptional, knowledgeable and personal service to my clients. Those key principles of service are my guarantee to you in developing our relationship.
I transitioned into real estate from the world of higher education where I invested daily in my students (clients) by listening, nurturing and guiding them to their goals. I have devoted over 20 years to the teaching profession and 12 years of study in higher education. I earned my Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio, a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan and a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan. I believe my experiences in education are my greatest assets as they inform me of how I can be an effective collaborator in a working/learning relationship. The real estate process is all about working together towards a common goal and when the relationship begins with this understanding, great things can be accomplished!
Most importantly, I recognize the value of each person that I work with and the mutual consideration necessary to build a productive relationship. As a person of color and the LGBTQ+ community, I understand the importance of appreciating the diversity of humanity and advocating for equality in all aspects of life. For that reason, I believe it is absolutely important for me to clearly state:
Every voice in our community has something of value to contribute. As your Realtor, I will take care to respect the different experiences, beliefs and values expressed by you, my clients, while adhering to the ethical guidelines of my profession and professional associations. I am strongly committed to diversity and welcome individuals of all ages, backgrounds, citizenships, disabilities, sexes, education levels, ethnicities, family statuses, genders, gender identities or expressions, geographical locations, languages, military experiences, political views, races, religions, sexual orientations, socioeconomic statuses and work experiences.
